Casino question at the gubernatorial debate

Monday night’s Springfield debate opened with the casino issue.

Two candidates for Governor  are for the repeal.

Jeff McCormick said, “I am yes to repeal the casino as well. A third of revenue’s coming from addicted gamblers.”

Scott Lively said, “We should be turning to the Lord, not to the organized crime of the casino industry.”
Ultimately the voters will decide the fate of casinos in Massachusetts on Election Day, November 4th.

Three candidates want to keep the casino.

Republican Charlie Baker said, “I’ve been a one casino person since pretty much the start of this conversation.”

Independent Evan Falchuk said, “Our Legislature created the framework. Cities and towns then went and had hard fought battles.”

Democrat Martha Coakley said, “In making sure that we’re going to maximize the economic benefit of casinos and mitigate the ills.”

Ballot Question # 3

A YES vote means that you agree that the Casino Law should be repealed and that Casino gaming be outlawed.

A NO vote means that no change will happen and casinos are allowed to come into our cities and towns.

Project Furious 2014 is against casino gaming in our state.

What Is Project Furios 2014 and What is Happening?

Project Furious 2014 was first announced in New York at the EPN digital broadcast center to educate Massachusetts voters of the opportunity to reverse the 2011 Expanded Gaming Act that was voted in on July 16, 2012.

On June 24, 2012, the Massachusetts State Supreme Court authorized ballet question number three to be part of the November 4th elections.     Project Furious 2014 was launched as the only awareness campaign in Massachusetts that does not receive donations and has no debt.    The organization presented by a consortium of volunteer organizations and individuals associated with:

- Ewen Prime Company originating from Boston, Natick & Westborough,
- Forest Academy of New York & New England,
- Kelvin Projects from the Berkshires & Springfield

All awareness information about the damaging effects of casino gambling and voting YES on Question # 3 on November 4th to reverse the 2011 Expanded Casino Act that authorizes casino gaming is FREE and found on the blog http://projectfurious2014.blogspot.com/

In addition to the FREE information, published on Amazon is the book and the DVD movie produced by Project Furious 2014 and Ewen Prime Company.

- BOOK (on Amazon):    Armageddon by Casino
- MOVIE (DVD on Amazon): Apocalypse by Casino

The volunteers have been gathered through social media efforts on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus who work to share information about the damaging effects of casino gambling.      The greatest support has been from Boston and Worcester.   Support is beginning to come from Springfield and surrounding communities.

On September 18 it was reported that the Massachusetts unemployment rate jumped from 5.6% up to 5.8% as of July 2014.   At a time when unemployment has ticked up, do we really want the voting residents of Massachusetts to spend wasteful dollars on Casinos at a time when casinos are closing all over the country?   In Connecticut, the Mayor of Ledyard (home of Foxwoods) said that there has been "no economic development spin-off from (Foxwoods).  Businesses do not come here".    Connecticut has proven that casinos doesn't spurt the growth of commerce in their communities.   Even worse, Moody's hs downgraded the outlook on casinos down to negative and Firth Ratings have said the casino market is "reaching a saturation point".    The Governor of Massachusetts (Gov. Deval Patrick), Speaker DeLeo, and Senate Preseident Murray have expressed that they do not want a casino in their home towns.   Why should we?    The former CEO of Amercian Gaming said he would "work very, very hard against" a casino in his home town.   On November 4, vote YES on Question # 3 which would prohibit casinos, any caming establishiment sith slot machines, and wagering on simulcast greyhound races.   When we say NO to Casinos, we say YES to Question 3.   Vote on November 4th.  God bless you and the people of Massachusetts.   Learn more by clicking the links below.   Our old slogan was "Share if you care".  Our new slogan is "Don't make me say I told you so".   See below and please share.

Money Problems

BOSTON (State House News Service) – The group attempting to repeal the state’s casino law owes consultants, lawyers and supporters about $440,000 and has less than $11,000 in cash.

This is why project furious 2014 is an awareness campaign and not a fund raiser.   You can't go against MGM in Springfield or any other casino and think you can fight money with money.   It doesn't cost anything to educate people about the dangers affecting homes and businesses that casinos cause.

Don't Make Me Say I Told You So. Question 3 for November 4. Know the Truth

The Fight Begins. Let's Debate.

The news reports that a casino-funded group hoping to defeat November’s ballot question to repeal the state casino law says it will debate its opponents.  http://wwlp.com/2014/09/17/pro-casino-group-accepts-challenge-to-debate/

Proof: No jobs expected with casinos, gambling, and gaming

There are no jobs expected with casinos, gambling, and gaming in Massachusetts.  Here's what is happening at Suffolk Downs who has not been profitable for 7 years running.

Casino Talk Getting Busy

Thank you to all who attended August celebration dinner at Red Roze Pizza (Aug 7 @ 7PM).  We had a great time and a good gathering of proactive supporters.  It was really good to see.   The casino talk is just starting to emerge as a routine news topic as we are two months away from the vote.  They'll be throttled up certainly by early October as the debate gets more heated with a month before the vote.   Our information continues to spread with multiple articles, books, albums, DVDs  which most are being given away.    There is no "pay here" or "donate here".  It doesn't cost anything to be informed and make the right decision.  It is as easy as reading and sharing with others: http://projectfurious2014.blogspot.com/

We now move forward with our team of all volunteers for this awareness campaign.  (Not be confused with a fundraiser).    Our goal is to open the door of information to registered Massachusetts voters to the information that show the damaging effects of casino gaming in the state.   We have the opportunity to vote casinos away from Massachusetts in November.
By early October, this will finally be a true hot topic in the public's eye as summer vacations will be over, kids are back in school, and the vote is about a month away.  You'll start to see more frequent news activity as MGM and Repeal the Casino Deal put more dollars into battle.  Our efforts will focus on communication by way of podcasts, videos, social media, texting, emailing, and face-2-face.  We are poised to do more and multiply our efforts.

It is fortunate that other organizations with fundraising efforts are doing the good work with strong rally efforts, planted lawn signs, aggressive mailings, and paid advertising.     While that effort continues, our non-fundraising team will continue to focus on connecting with people that on one knows exist.    Those are the silent registered voters who aren't sure if they want to vote.   Our educational efforts continue to build help build that confidence.
An impact has been made already with the volume of people we have reached.   Our job is to open the door to the truth so that an accurate educated decision can be made by the voter before going to the pole.    As my book explains, even the former Governor of Connecticut was apposed to casinos back before Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun became a reality.
Our slogan use to be "Share if You Care".   Now it is, "Don't Make Me Say I Told You So".

Unemployment Future in Massachusetts?

Can casinos in Massachusetts cause mass unemployment?   The business model of casinos doesn't work.    The northeast region is already saturated with two casinos in Connecticut with dwindling revenue.  Here is a report of a disaster for Atlantic City that was posted on September 3, 2014.    Read and understand the potential devastation Massachusetts can have with casinos failing in our state.

Bad News for Massachuetts

Massachusetts just received bad news. See link below.    Well over half the voters accept casinos in Massachusetts and want MGM to stay in Springfield.    I believe they are unaware of the dangers of casino gaming in Massachusetts.     A new UMass Lowell/7News poll released this week shows that 59 percent of likely general election voters still support the law, with 36 percent saying they support the repeal effort. Just five percent of the voters said they are still undecided.

The supporters and volunteers of Project Furious have their work cut out for them.   I can't do it alone.    Remember the slogan for Project Furious  "Don't make me say I told you so"

Destruction by Casino to Massachusetts

This is an example (click link) of how a casino can destroy Massachusetts.   If it's old news, then it's fact.   Don't let this be our future.   And don't make me say I told you so (Vote "Yes" on # 3 on Nov 4 to repeal the casino law)
